A huge thank you from Zimbabwe
PCE coaches Vivienne Royle and Jake Beeman recently returned from Tshelanyemba, Zimbabwe. They went as part of The Silokwethemba Project, founded by School District 43 teacher Max Vincent. With them, they took the many soccer jerseys and shorts our club had so generously donated.During their time in the village, Vincent’s group supported the local soccer program. The two Zimbabwean men who ran the program were impressively skilled and very good with the kids. (One of these men even showed up in a PoCo Soccer Academy jersey one day.) The clinics were obviously very important to the kids. To have one new ball for each boy and girl to use and cones to organize the event blew them away – and it is something we so take for granted. Their love of the game and their fearlessness left the Canadians feeling inspired. The tournament competition was fierce and it was mind blowing to watch kids with cleats play against kids in bare feet – and the barefooted kids did not back away! The players and coaches were so grateful for the many prizes (including jerseys, shorts, balls, nets) this group provided. Again, these were items we at home take for granted, but were gold to these teams.Vivienne and Jake will be collecting team sets of jerseys and shorts again this season, so please consider donating. If you could only see how special these donations are to these Zimbabwean players, EVERYONE would get on board. Thank you in advance for your participation and all the best for the 2016/17 soccer season!

Thank you PoCo Euro-Rite FC for supporting children in Zimbabwe for the third year!
“We had our fourth annual soccer tournament. One of the schools walked 7.5 km to attend. They had jerseys that were full of holes. We were delighted when they won. Included in their prizes was a new set of jerseys. They walked the 7.5 km home beaming with pride and an extra bounce in their step.
Thank you PoCo Soccer for supporting this important initiative. Together, we can make a huge difference!” Max Vincent, founder of the charity
