Program Overview

At this stage, the focus is on enjoyment, creativity and lots of time on the ball in a positive and supportive environment.

Who It’s For

  • U8–U10 players are in the Minis stage, where the focus is on confidence, creativity and small-sided play.

  • Players are placed in age-appropriate groups and teams based on registration numbers, player development needs and the best available playing environment.

Parent/Guardian Role

  • Parents and guardians play an important role in creating a positive experience for players.

  • We ask families to support players by encouraging effort, respect, teamwork and a love for the game.

  • Positive sideline behaviour helps players feel confident, safe and supported while they learn and compete.

  • Parents are also expected to stay informed through club and team communications, arrive on time for training and games and help players come prepared with the right equipment.

Days, Times & Location

  • Training days, times, and locations vary by age group, team, field availability and league scheduling.

  • Most teams train during the week and play one game on the weekend. Some teams may train once per week, while others may train twice depending on age group, level and program structure.

  • Final schedules are confirmed after registration numbers, team formation, field allocations and league schedules are complete.

Season Schedule

  • The Fall–Winter season typically runs from September through March.

  • Teams will participate in regular weekly training and weekend league games throughout the season. Breaks may occur around holidays, weather disruptions, field closures, or league scheduling changes.

  • Families will receive team-specific schedules once teams are formed and league information is confirmed.

What’s Included

  • Registration includes participation in the Fall–Winter season, team training, league games, coach support and access to the player development environment for the appropriate age group.

  • Players are supported through age-appropriate training that follows PoCo FC’s player pathway, with a focus on technical development, game understanding, teamwork and long-term enjoyment of soccer.

  • Team placement, training frequency, game format and competition level may vary by age group and team.

Players should bring:

  • Soccer boots or turf boots

  • Shin guards
