Coach Education: Learning Through Challenges (On-Field)

This coach education session is designed to support coaches in creating engaging, player-centred training environments where children learn through play, problem-solving, and guided challenges.

Program Overview

The session reflects Children’s Diploma principles by focusing on curiosity, creativity, decision-making, and confidence, while ensuring activities are inclusive, age-appropriate, and developmentally meaningful.


Coaches will explore how small changes to training design can have a big impact on player learning and engagement, including:

  • Using space, numbers, and rules to guide learning

  • Creating challenges that encourage thinking and problem-solving

  • Supporting different ages and abilities within the same environment

  • Keeping sessions active, inclusive, and enjoyable for all players

  • U8–U12 Coaches

  • U13–U18 Coaches

  • 6:00–7:00pm (U8–U12)

  • 7:00–8:00pm (U13–U18)

Format: On-field, practical learning

Location: Gates Park Turf 1
