U14–U18 Divisional Pathway
PoCo FC’s U14–U18 Divisional Pathway supports players as they continue their soccer journey in the 11v11 stage of development.
Date & Location
September - March
Home & Away Games, 2300 Reeve St, Port Coquitlam
Program Overview

This phase emphasizes team play, positional understanding, decision-making, and performing within a game model that values bravery, effort, and learning.
Players train and compete in environments designed to match their current stage of development. The focus remains on long-term growth, confidence, and enjoyment, while providing appropriate challenge in a safe, supportive, and inclusive setting.
Players are encouraged to be brave, take appropriate risks, and view mistakes as a natural part of learning and development.
Finding the Right Level
PoCo FC forms and enters teams with the goal of placing players in an environment that best supports their development, confidence, and enjoyment of the game. Each division offers a distinct training and competition experience, and placement is guided by league structure, team readiness, and player needs.
Division 1
Division 1 offers a higher weekly challenge for players who are ready for increased tactical demands, speed of play, and consistency. Training places greater emphasis on execution under pressure, game understanding, and collective responsibilities within team structure. This environment is well suited to motivated players seeking a more demanding training and competition experience.
Division 2 & 3
Division 2 and 3 provide meaningful competition in a supportive, development-focused environment. Training emphasizes team tactics, positional roles, and understanding the game in and out of possession, while maintaining enjoyment and confidence. This pathway supports continued growth without unnecessary pressure, allowing players to progress at an appropriate pace.
Teams are entered into leagues as follows:
Division 1 teams are entered based on league structure and club discretion where permitted
Division 2 & 3 teams are entered based on league structure and overall team readiness
Player movement between teams and divisions may occur when appropriate, with player development, wellbeing, and confidence always remaining the priority.
